RUSHBOND

The Art Court is excited to collaborate with Rushbond, Yorkshire-based developers specialising in the restoration of heritage buildings. In Spring 2024, we presented two exhibitions at the beautifully restored First White Cloth Hall in Leeds City Centre. Originally opened in 1711 as a covered hall for traders selling undyed cloth, this Grade II* listed building had been derelict until Rushbond restored this incredible building.

Both exhibitions, Beyond Colours From Life and The Spring Exhibition, are still available to view via online catalogues below.

We provided project management for a project to commission the artist Cat Barrett, whose striking watercolour paintings have transformed the staircases of Leeds Corn Exchange. Selected from over 70 submissions, her work turns the space into a giant greenhouse, with the artwork reproduced at over ten times the size of the original pieces.

THE SPRING EXHIBITION
AT FIRST WHITE CLOTH HALL, 2 MAY - 1 JUN

The Spring Exhibition celebrates the heritage of First White Cloth Hall. It features woven works, sculptural cement pieces cast from fabric moulds, paintings, drawing, installations and more. The muted tones and floaty fabrics make for a slightly ethereal feel in this stunning setting. Open Thurs - Sat, 12-6pm.

BEYOND COLOURS FROM LIFE
AT FIRST WHITE CLOTH HALL, 14 MAR - 20 APR

Embark on a journey into the captivating world of colour in this exhibition that explores the ways in which artists harness colour to convey emotions, observations, and narratives.
