HONDARTZA FRAGA

In this series Hondartza explores aspects of space and distance. At first glance the photos look to have captured the sun shining on the vast ocean. On closer inspection it becomes apparent this in not the case, and that the images have captured light shining on the grain of a book cover to simulate seascapes.

This body of work exploring the maritime archives of the Maritime Historical Studies Centre at the University of Hull, was part of a Leverhulme Artist-in-Residence project.
